Dr Vikram Padhye — MBBS, PhD, FRACS

Dr Vikram Padhye is a South Australian Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon whose training places him among a small group of surgeons internationally qualified in two highly specialised areas: advanced sinus surgery and sleep apnoea surgery.

Born and raised in Adelaide, Dr Padhye completed his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2008. He undertook his surgical training across all major South Australian public hospitals, including 12 months of dedicated paediatric ENT surgery at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

International fellowships

In 2019, Dr Padhye spent 12 months at The University of Toronto, training in advanced sinus, anterior skull base and head & neck surgery under Professor Ian Witterick — one of the field’s leading surgeons. In 2022, he travelled to California to undertake the prestigious sleep surgery fellowship at Stanford University with pioneering surgeon Professor Robson Capasso. He is the only Australian ENT to have been awarded this fellowship, and spent two years working with new technology and refining advanced techniques for the management of snoring and sleep apnoea.

Research and Academic Awards

Dr Padhye holds a PhD in sinus surgery, completed under the supervision of internationally renowned surgeon Professor PJ Wormald. His research was recognised with a commendation for thesis excellence by the University of Adelaide and the RP Jepson Medal awarded by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and has presented his research at conferences in Australia and overseas.

A Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr Padhye manages the full scope of paediatric and adult ENT disorders, with special interests in sleep, nasal breathing and sinus surgery.
