Information

What to bring to your first consultation

Your first appointment with Dr Padhye is a chance to talk through what’s been going on and plan the next step. The list below covers everything you’ll need to bring, and a few details about how the appointment will run.

Documents to bring

  • A current referral from your GP. Without one, you can still see Dr Padhye, but Medicare rebates won’t apply. We prefer the referral is sent ahead of time so your appointment can be booked on the right day. Not all services run every day. GPs can refer via fax 08 8363 3083, or email admin@entsa.com.
  • Any relevant imaging, scans, sleep studies or audiograms. If you’ve had a CT, MRI, x-ray, sleep study or hearing test in the past 12 months, bring the report and the image disc if you have it.
  • Your Medicare card.
  • Private health insurance details, if you have cover.
  • A list of your current medications, including over-the-counter and herbal preparations.

Payment

Payment is required in full on the day of consultation. We accept Visa and MasterCard.

If Medicare has your bank details on file, the Medicare rebate is usually deposited into your account within 24 hours of the visit.

What to expect at the appointment

Dr Padhye will take a detailed history, examine you (sometimes including a nasal endoscopy or hearing test), and explain what he thinks is going on. If a procedure or further investigation is suggested, you’ll talk through the options, and what happens next. There is never any pressure to make a decision on the day.

If you’d like a family member or support person with you, please bring them along. If you need an interpreter, Auslan or any other access support, let our reception team know in advance so we can arrange it. See our Accessibility Statement for more.

If you can’t make your appointment

Please call as soon as you can on 08 8362 5255 so we can offer the slot to another patient. Where possible, we’ll reschedule you to the next available time.
